Era Gibson

I was baptized into the Seventh Day Adventist Church in a little settlement of Abaco called Lake City.  I was in my early teens when I accepted Christ as my Saviour. At that time, I was the first and only member of my family to become a Seventh Day Adventist. However, there were times when I did not live up to all the teaching that I had.  After I moved to the island of Grand Bahama where there were other members of the “faith” I became encouraged to study and get involved in the work of the church.  This really helped me a lot.  God became more real to me as I told others about His love and witnessed to His goodness in my life.  He has always brought situations and people in my life to keep me focus on Him.

The Spirit of Prophecy says “God’s people must take warning and discern the signs of the times.  The signs of Christ’s coming are too plain to be doubted and in view of these things, every one who professes the truth should be a living preacher. God calls upon all, both preachers and people, to awake”.

What has made an impact on my life is when I read in some of our magazines what some of our brothers and sisters are going through overseas.  Traveling through some difficult situations, just to make sure that our brothers and sisters in foreign land who have not heard of the love of God hear about Him and come to know This Great God who loves them so much.  My life in these Bahamas is very comfortable with every thing that I need almost at my fingertips.

It is my desire to serve the Lord with all my heart and do what I can to help others to finish the work so that the Lord can come soon.  For He said in Isaiah 41: 13 “For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

May this be the cry of all God’s children, even come Lord Jesus.
