Lady Yvette Alice Tinker
REMEMBERING LADY YVETTE ALICE TINKER
It was Thursday morning, July 12, 2012 that I was awakened rather early with the confrontation of sad news. It was my brother and colleague, Pastor Errol Tinker, president of the North Bahamas Conference, who called to inform of the passing of his wife of 29 years Alice Yvette Tinker. Unfortunately, Alice succumbed to her illness after being hospitalized for the past 3-4 weeks.
Alice, a former worker at the Grand Bahama Academy for a number of years will be remembered for her smiles, singing and unquestionable support of her children and husband. So it is only natural to expect that Pastor Tinker, Jason and Britney will miss her.
Accordingly, my wife Denise, Shepherdess Coordinator, fellow officers Pastor Peter Kerr and Elder Roderick Sand, their spouses and the entire Headquarters family at ACUM join me in extending condolences to the Tinker family, Peggy, Tanya, their families and to you the workers and members of the North Bahamas Conference. Additionally, I convey condolences on behalf of the local fields, their leaders and members as Alice has touched the lives of many as a Shepherdess leader of North Bahamas Conference.
Also I pass on the condolences of Elder Israel Leito, president of the Inter American Division, Pastor Everette Brown, president of the Jamaica Union Conference and Leticia De Los Santos, Shepherdess Coordinator of the Inter American Division.
As we all have been made sad by Alice’s passing I thought to share the words found in 1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18. These words have comforted many and certainly they still comfort. “But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.
